The Power of Effort
I want to address the “power of effort” today. All too often we are told to believe, have faith, manifest our own destiny and so forth. These are all positive things and we should most certainly do them. However, we must put effort into all we do. How often do you feel a certain way and cannot get out of that funk? How many times have you performed a task only to realize so much was left undone or you simply could have done a better job?
Putting effort into all you do can dramatically improve the quality of your life. Life can be difficult, but your attitude shapes how you view and experience the world around you. If you are looking for a job, put as much effort as you can into filling out applications, writing cover letters and contacting prospective employers. Don’t wait for them to contact you, put all your efforts into getting that job for which you truly yearn. On interviews let your true self shine through. Pretending to be something you are not will only end up in heartache and in many cases the loss of that job.
If you have a goal in life, but it seems impossible to attain, set smaller attainable goals which will lead you to your ultimate desire. Put all your effort into each smaller task and you will soon realize that ultimate goal is closer to achievement than you had ever imagined. Do not listen to people who say your dreams are unattainable, what do they know? These are your dreams, not theirs. How many times have you heard the story of a famous actor/actress who was told they’d never make it, only to look back and see all their efforts got them to exactly where they are today.
We live in challenging times. I often say that one must be extraordinary to be ordinary in the 21st century. The demand on us as human beings has greatly increased. Sure, we don’t hunt for food or make our own clothes, but we deal with a constant onslaught of negative messages in the media that can easily bring down your spirit and drive. Much of those messages are fear driven as a method of controlling the masses. This is nothing new; it’s been practiced for thousands of years by the few in power consistently attempting to manage and control the remaining inhabitants on this planet. You are smart, intelligent and capable of free thought. So take your thoughts, your ideas, your beliefs and put them into action. When you do, put all your effort into them and you will soon discover that your efforts are what are shaping your future and those who are fortunate enough to know you.
I’m always wishing each of you the very best in life and beyond. You are worth my effort! You are loved and never alone! Namaste dear souls!
